On 6 October, all 28 Crucible Lusaka students began their first Cambridge International AS and A level examinations, a major academic milestone marking the culmination of their first year of study. The examinations, which continue until 11 November, cover mathematics, economics and physics, and represent an important step toward university readiness.
Over recent weeks, students have been preparing through a series of mock exams, focused study groups, and dedicated mentoring sessions with their teachers. While anticipation, and a few nerves, have been felt across the campus, the atmosphere remains positive and purposeful as students rise to the challenge with determination and focus.
Practical skills assessment
The boarding and teaching teams have worked closely to ensure that students feel both academically and emotionally supported throughout this period. Lessons on preparation and stress management have equipped them with strategies to maintain balance and wellbeing during this demanding time.
For Crucible Lusaka, these examinations reflect more than academic achievement; they embody the rigour and perseverance that underpin the school’s mission to develop pioneering leaders for a prosperous Zambia.
With one year of A level study remaining, students will soon begin preparing for university applications and the opportunity to join some of the world’s leading institutions. These first examinations are not only a test of knowledge, but a statement of ambition and potential.
