Journeys of wonder at Mosi oa Tunya

The trip was designed to help students appreciate the country’s natural heritage and cultural identity. Even though it was the dry season, the rocky cliff face shimmered in the sun and offered a view that many described as unforgettable.

The entire school took part in this activity. They began by taking in the wide sweep of the falls before making their way down to the Boiling Pot. The descent was peaceful and gave everyone a chance to observe the gorge from a unique angle. A short break at the bottom offered cool air and small bursts of mist drifting across the trail, which helped keep the group refreshed in the heat.

The return climb was the most challenging part of the day. The steep path tested everyone’s stamina and highlighted the school value of resilience as students encouraged one another and pushed steadily up the hill.

Later the group explored upstream near the Devil’s Pool where students skipped stones and asked curious questions about the geology and history of the area. These activities supported classroom learning and deepened their understanding of Zambia’s environment.

The trip also reflected the value of Ubuntu. Students took time to appreciate the crafts at the museum and showed respect for the land around the falls. Their reflections showed how meaningful the experience was both academically and personally and everyone returned with a renewed sense of pride in Zambia’s heritage.communication, and collaboration.
