Over the past week, our learners embarked on enriching educational journeys that brought Zambia’s history, heritage, and engineering to life. These visits offered powerful real-world learning moments that complemented their classroom experiences while deepening their appreciation of the nation’s past.

On 15 November, students toured the Railways and Jewish Museum, where they explored the iconic trains that once powered the Mulobezi rail line.

Through interactive sessions, they learned how steam engines functioned and how the historic sawmill was later privatised. The visit also shed light on the important story of the Jewish community in Zambia and their contributions to national development.

Just a few days later, on 18 November 2025, the group travelled to the Choma Museum and Craft Centre, immersing themselves in the vibrant traditions of the Southern Province.

Highlights included seeing the massive wrecking balls used during the construction of the Kariba Dam and examining cultural artefacts that reflect the livelihoods and heritage of the Tonga people.

Students were particularly inspired by learning about Gabriel Ellison, the visionary artist behind Zambia’s national flag, its early currency designs, and the country’s first post-independence postage stamps.

These excursions offered meaningful opportunities for students to connect with history, culture, and innovation in a tangible way. We remain grateful to our parents, partners, and funders whose continued support makes transformative learning experiences like these possible.
