Crucible Lusaka’s robotics team has officially joined the AI for Good Robotics Competition, marking an exciting step in the school’s growing engagement with science, technology, and innovation. The project runs from October 2025 to February 2026, culminating in the national competition, with the potential to represent Zambia at the international finals in Geneva in July 2026.

At the official orientation, the team received an overview of the competition rules, objectives, and project milestones.
Speaking at their first training session, team member Temwani set the tone for the months ahead:
We are here to either learn or win. Hopefully we do both.
Over the coming weeks, the students will focus on designing, building, and programming their robot to address one of the AI for Good challenges. The team is currently finalising its design plans and preparing a materials budget for the construction phase, with full support promised by the event organisers throughout the competition.
The robotics team includes Temwani, Christine, Rebecca, Jonas, Themba, Joel, Israel, and Taizya, all of whom have shown remarkable curiosity, creativity, and teamwork during their first sessions.
