On 21st August 2025, Crucible Lusaka proudly participated as one of the sponsors of the CAMFED STEM boot camp, a gathering that celebrated the power of education and leadership. Parents, partners, funders, and students came together to share stories of resilience and the importance of creating opportunities for young people especially girls.
For our students, Crucible Lusaka is more than a leadership school in Longacres; it is a place of transformation. As one student speaker shared, “Crucible teaches us how we can create change in our lives, our communities, and even the world.” Their words captured the essence of what makes Crucible unique.
The event also created space for students to share their personal journeys, especially the challenges they faced in continuing their education. These testimonies, particularly from young women, reminded us of the barriers many still confront and the courage it takes to keep learning despite them.
CAMFED, the host of the event, is an organization that supports girls from remote and rural areas of Zambia by meeting their basic educational needs. From school supplies to mentorship, this vital support helps ensure that girls not only stay in school but are empowered to thrive academically and socially.
In their reflections, Crucible students encouraged female pupils not only to continue their education but to pursue something greater dreams that can create a better Zambia for all. Their message was clear: education is not just about individual achievement but about building stronger, more inclusive communities.
The CAMFED event highlighted that parents, funders, and partners are vital in this journey. With continued support, more young leaders will stay in school, stand tall, lead with purpose, and transform their communities.
